Job description

Under supervision, the Cement Operator is responsible for ensuring excellent customer satisfaction through the safe and efficient operation of cement equipment. This includes rigging up and down equipment, performing cement pump operations, and managing well site operations. This position also involves necessary calculations, data collection, and the repair and preparation of equipment for the next job.

Detailed Description:

  • Responsible for the safe operation of bulk equipment, rig-up of iron, and high-pressure pump operations during service delivery in accordance with customer designs and KPIs.
  • Maintains the integrity of discharge iron installations.
  • Prepares cement pumping equipment for the well site.
  • Performs equipment function checks in preparation for jobs.
  • Utilizes real-time data under dynamic job conditions and communicates results to the appropriate personnel at the site.
  • Drives company light-duty and commercial vehicles as required.
  • Promotes safety awareness, environmental consciousness, and actively participates in quality improvement processes.
  • Conducts pre-job and post-job safety meetings to identify hazards and risks.
  • Completes the rig down of equipment and ensures cleanliness upon return to facilities.
  • Assists with blow down, field bin movement, and vertical silo relocation.
  • Ensures a high level of efficiency and readiness in equipment operations.
  • Performs work independently and assists other employees as directed.
  • Complies with customer and company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Participates in safety meetings to identify and mitigate risks and hazards.
  • Completes a respirator fit test as required.

Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of and compliance with DOT rules and regulations.
  • Understanding of company policies, HSE standards, and PSL guidelines.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining bulk equipment, high-pressure mixing pumps, blenders, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance on equipment and cement heads.
  • Proficiency in rigging up and rigging down high-pressure iron and other equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English for effective communication and instruction.
  • Strong mathematical skills for job-related calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic computer skills.

Language Comprehension:
Must understand and speak English at a level sufficient to issue, receive, and respond to both safety and operations-related directions.

Minimum Qualifications for Level 1

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum Qualifications for Level 2

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 2 years.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • HAZMAT Endorsement.
