Performs semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work on a variety of complex mechanical equipment, including light to heavy equipment with gasoline and diesel engines, equipment attachments, pumps, compressors, blowers, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems. Water and wastewater system equipment includes various types of pumps and associated systems, aeration systems, chemical feed systems, and related process equipment. The principal function of this position is to diagnose and perform complex mechanical repairs, combined with work order management, documentation, scheduling, and asset management.
RequirementsMinimum Required Qualifications (Education, Experience and Training):- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
- At least two (2) years' successful experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical equipment, including pumps, hydraulics, valves, and small engines/motors; or mechanical or electric equipment maintenance, pump repair, light and medium-duty truck repair, or related maintenance work; and
- Welding and fabrication skills; or
- Any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work may be considered.
Special Requirements/Licenses or Certificates:- Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to obtain a Class A Montana Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake and tanker endorsement and DOT Medical Certification within one (1) year of employment.
- Offers of employment are conditional upon satisfactory completion of a pre-employment background check, reference checks, driving record check, and DOT drug screen.
- Employee must be available as needed for overtime and may be requested for call out for after-hours work for emergency repairs.
