JOB TITLE: Ingredients Lead
JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
This job requires theIngredients Weigh Lead to perform the following tasks:
  • Schedule batch weighing to prevent production shutdowns
  • Check/verify materials and amounts to be weighed per batch formula
  • Control the placement of ingredients that are Organic/Allergens to comply with proper storage requirements.
  • Document lot numbers and correct quantities, as required, and insure that all weighed ingredients are issued to the shop order.
  • May fill in as back up for other positions such as, weigher, batcher, or forklift driver, as needed.
  • Use Food Safety procedures and GMP to ensure quality product
  • Monitor the cleaning of Warehouse 3 and storage areas
  • Work with team members to provide information for the coordination of supplies needed to complete each task to keep batches available for weekly production.
  • Review the ticket identification and computer records to maintain accurate inventory of ingredients in all warehouses using Macola/Agility.
  • Monitor ingredients to ensure FIFO is being followed and being put in storage locations and assigned to each job correctly and accurately.
  • Maintain proper batching records.
  • Review each completed batch order and cycle count any variances.
  • Understand and comply with all programs, policies and procedures within the Food Safety and Quality Management System.
  • Review and track ingredient losses to minimize impact to the plant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ITEM TIME JOB FUNCTIONS
1. 10% Train all ingredient weighers to collect, compute totals, and measure ingredients, document on batch sheets, and prepare identification labels to match weighed items, securely sealing each item, as required.
2. 15% Communicate with Fork Lift operator in a timely manner to 1) retrieve items that must be weighed, 2) to remove completed items, and 3) remove from freezer any and all ingredients needed for batches
4. 50% Able to rotate to other jobs as needed to complete the day's work. Must be able to work as weigher and maintain all paperwork and labels related to batches for operators to complete each formula, releasing and issuing Shop Floor Orders in Macola. This includes Batch Sheets and any other necessary documentation for recording lot numbers of ingredients.
5. 20% Perform Duties of inventory cycle counter to ensure all jobs are closed properly
6. 5% perform other duties as needed or assigned by Ingredient Manager

Proof of high school diploma or equivalent; Willingness to continue education through approved courses or classes that will enhance personal and professional growth
Years and Type of Related Experience Required:
Exposure to manufacturing environment, forklift training, computer skills, and math skills, Inventory Experience in a Warehouse environment
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Interpersonal and Communication:
  • Requires strong oral and communication skills; requires calculator knowledge in order to perform duties as assigned.
  • Keeps on top of ingredients shortages with the Ingredient Manager and Warehouse Manager so that we can adjust Schedule, as needed.

Technical and Analytical:
  • Requires good organizational skills and the ability to perform assigned tasks;
  • .Requires the ability to accurately use scales and formula information.
  • Will require computer skills and knowledge using Macola and Agility.
  • Inventory experience and the ability to analyze shop orders to ensure the correct amount of inventory has been issued to jobs.

Administrative and Operations:
Must adhere to departmental procedures; must also follow all safety guidelines established by the company
Physical Demands:
Requires walking, standing, and bending; including lifting, not to exceed fifty pounds without a partner
Work Environment
Hot and cold climate, wet, forklift traffic, allergens present. This is a Safety Sensitive position.
