Job description

Job Title: Local Class A Driver - Hopper and Tanker Loads

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Local Class A Driver to join Tama-Benton Cooperative. As a Class A Driver, you will be responsible for transporting local loads using hopper and tanker trailers. This position requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and experience pulling hoppers and tankers. The role is full-time and offers excellent benefits.

Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently transport local loads using hopper and tanker trailers for Tama-Benton Cooperative.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure safe driving practices.
- Perform pre-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in proper working condition before each trip.
- Load and unload cargo in a timely and organized manner, utilizing proper equipment and following established procedures.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and other required paperwork for Tama-Benton Cooperative.
- Maintain effective communication with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers, providing updates on delivery schedules and addressing any potential issues or delays.
- Comply with safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper handling and transportation of hazardous materials, if applicable.
- Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, maintaining compliance with transportation-related laws and requirements.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance tasks, such as checking tire pressure, fluid levels, and overall vehicle cleanliness.
- Deliver exceptional customer service for Tama-Benton Cooperative, demonstrating professionalism, courtesy, and respect during interactions with customers and stakeholders.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle malfunctions promptly and accurately to Tama-Benton Cooperative.
- Adhere to Tama-Benton Cooperative's policies and procedures, including safety, compliance, and operational guidelines.

Qualifications:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with necessary endorsements.
- Experience pulling hoppers and tankers.

- Ability to safely operate and maneuver hopper and tanker trailers.
