Job description

Overview

The Structural Welding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing welding operations related to structural steel fabrication. This role ensures weld quality, structural integrity, and compliance with all applicable codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a welding team and daily welding operations
  • Ensure all welds meet quality standards, codes (AWS, etc.), and project specifications
  • Review drawings and welding requirements with team
  • Perform inspections and coordinate with QA/QC
  • Train and mentor welders
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of welding equipment
  • Enforce safety procedures and PPE compliance
  • Coordinate workflow with fabrication and assembly teams
  • Lead the QES Operating Model (QOM) for their teams including leading huddles, updating performance boards, engage the team in daily problem solving, and focus on quality.

    Knowledge and Experience Requirements
  • 5+ years of welding experience (structural steel preferred)
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or lead welding role
  • Knowledge of AWS standards and welding procedures
