As a Caregiver with Assisting Hands, you will provide compassionate, dependable, and high-quality personal care and supportive services to clients in the comfort of their homes. Under the supervision of the Care Manager and guidance of the Staffing Coordinator, you will assist clients with daily living activities while promoting their independence, dignity, safety, and overall well-being. This role is essential in helping clients maintain a clean, comfortable, and supportive home environment.
Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required.
Qualifications:

At least one (1) year of experience in home care, long-term care, assisted living, or a similar healthcare setting preferred.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and caregiving skills.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends.
Reports To:

Care Manager
Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain a Clean & Safe Environment
Perform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, and living areas.
Assist with laundry, dishwashing, and other household tasks to maintain a sanitary and organized home.
Help ensure the clients environment remains safe, comfortable, and supportive of their health and well-being.
2. Provide Personal Care & Assistance
Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, shaving, and transferring.
Support mobility, ambulation, and prescribed exercise routines according to the Plan of Care.
Provide assistance with eating and other personal care needs as required.
3. Nutritional Support
Assist with meal planning, preparation, serving, and feeding as needed.
Help ensure clients receive proper nutrition and follow dietary guidelines outlined in their care plans.
4. Monitor Client Health & Well-Being
Observe, document, and report changes in the clients physical, emotional, or behavioral condition to the Staffing Coordinator or Care Manager.
Maintain accurate records related to care activities, vital signs, intake/output, and other required health information.
Report any safety concerns or unusual observations promptly.
5. Support Mobility & Physical Activities
Safely assist clients using mobility equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, gait belts, and Hoyer lifts.
Encourage participation in prescribed exercises and range-of-motion activities.
Provide guidance and support to family members on safe caregiving techniques when appropriate.
6. Medication Assistance
Assist clients with self-administered medications by:
  • Retrieving medications and reading labels.
  • Assisting with medication reminders and proper administration.
  • Helping clients safely take medications with water or other approved items.
  • Recording medication assistance activities and ensuring medications are stored properly.
7. Infection Control & Compliance
Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including proper hand hygiene and CDC guidelines.
Comply with all company policies, procedures, training requirements, and caregiver standards outlined in the Employee Handbook and Caregiver Training Manual.
Working Hours:
Schedules vary based on client care needs and assignment availability.
Flexible shifts are available, including mornings, evenings, overnights, weekdays, and weekends.
Weekend availability is required, including the ability to work Saturdays and/or Sundays on a regular basis.
Caregivers must be willing to accept weekend assignments as part of their ongoing schedule.
