Physician Assistant, Weekends - Hawaii Army National Guard
Kapolei, HI

Qualifications:
Licensed and credentialed Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners in the State of Hawaii. It is preferred that the contractor have a minimum of two (2) years' experience with knowledge of military culture, military medical systems of records, and experience collaborating with health service agencies to integrate resources, plan, and deliver comprehensive services. Weekend PA services will be coordinated through the HIARNG Office of the State Surgeon Staff.
Duties:
Contractor shall provide Medical Readiness Decision Point (MRDP) evaluations, MRDP reviews, MRDP summaries, profile reviews, lab reviews, Periodic Health Assessments (PHA) and Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) evaluations for individual Service Member (SM). Services are provided to each SM at least annually but are dependent on each Soldiers medical needs and status. Contractor shall follow guidelines established in AR 40-501, PPG, mobilization specific requirements to determine individual medical readiness status. The contractor shall provide an email to the COR within 24 hours of end of event detailing the services provided and the last and first names of the SMs for which those services were performed for that event.
Contractor shall perform specific military examinations at PHA and SRP events, to include period/retention physicals, active guard reserve hiring physicals, and chapter 2 commissioning physicals to military standards as directed by AR 40-501 and AR 600- 9.
Contractor shall review medical documentation provided by SM to determine fitness for duty as prescribed by AR 40-501.
Contractor shall review and assess laboratory reports.
Contractor shall evaluate SM's medical condition and initiate DA form 3349, if required by AR 40-501.
Contractor shall conduct referrals for specialty services. This includes radiology, orthopedics, endocrinology, and/or neurology.
Contractor shall conduct MRDP evaluations in accordance with AR 40-501 to determine if Service member requires referral to Medical Evaluation Board (MEB). MRDP evaluations are scheduled based on individual medical situations, generally within a year of onset of condition without medical improvement. MRDP evaluations shall be recorded in Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA), documented in each SM medical record both electronic and hard copy, and provide to the Medical Transition Unit administrator for further processing.
Contractor shall maintain Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1966 (HIPAA) standards and guidelines.
Contractor shall ensure all medical documentation received from the Soldier and/or his/her medical team is placed in each SMs electronic health record immediately after the encounter with the SM when appointment times allow, but NLT 24 hours post encounter. The contractor shall ensure the record is complete and provided to the records administrator prior to close of business for that day. Medical records shall be maintained in accordance with AR 40-66.
Contractor shall conduct a SMs record review to determine additionally required medical needs, determine medical fitness or clear from restrictions.
Contractor shall write and review temporary and/or permanent profiles for SMs with duty limiting conditions in accordance with AR 40-501 Chapter 11 to communicate to the SMs commander their duty limitations.
Contractor shall conduct Non-Duty MRDP assessments, review and validate all medical documentation and complete a narrative summary (NARSUM) to ensure Soldier has all necessary documentation in accordance with AR 635-40.
Schedule:
Provide services between the hours of 0800 and 1630 Saturday and Sunday, one weekend per month.. Performance shall be at HIARNG Office of the State Surgeon (OTSS), 91-1227 Enterprise Blvd, Bldg. 46, Kapolei, HI
