Permanent Full-Time Public Health Nursing Opportunity

Community-Based Role Supporting Pacific Whānau and Communities

Location: Auckland Region - Greenlane

About the Role

As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a key role in improving the health and wellbeing of Pacific individuals, whānau, and communities through health promotion, disease prevention, and community-based nursing care. Working within the Pacific Public Health team, you will deliver culturally responsive services that support equitable health outcomes and empower communities to achieve better health and wellbeing.

You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and whānau to provide holistic assessments, health education, immunisation and screening support, and early intervention services. This role combines public health and clinical nursing practice, with a strong focus on prevention, outreach, and improving access to healthcare services across the community.

You will also contribute to public health initiatives, communicable disease management, and emergency response activities, helping to strengthen community resilience and improve population health outcomes.

You will bring:

  • Current NZ Registered Nurse registration and APC.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
  • Experience using Patient Management Systems.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of Māori and Pacific health models and cultural responsiveness.
  • Vaccinator certification (or willingness to obtain it).
  • Full NZ Driver Licence.

Advantageous:

  • Child and adolescent health experience.
  • Whole of Life Vaccinator certification.
  • Fluency in a Pacific language.
