Weekend Video Editor information

What does a weekend video editor do?

A Weekend Video Editor is responsible for editing and producing video content specifically during weekends. Their tasks include assembling raw footage, cutting and rearranging clips, adding music, graphics, and effects, and ensuring videos are polished and ready for publication or broadcast. They often work with tight deadlines to deliver timely content, such as news highlights, sports recaps, or social media videos. Weekend Video Editors may collaborate remotely with producers or content creators and must be proficient with video editing software.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a weekend video editor?

To thrive as a Weekend Video Editor, you need strong proficiency in video editing software, a keen eye for visual storytelling, and experience with post-production workflows, often supported by a background in media or communications. Familiarity with tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and After Effects is typically required, along with knowledge of file formats and color grading techniques. Attention to detail, time management, and the ability to collaborate remotely or under tight deadlines are crucial soft skills. These abilities ensure high-quality, timely video content that meets client or organizational standards, especially during fast-paced weekend production cycles.

What are some common challenges faced by weekend video editors, and how can they be addressed?

Weekend Video Editors often work under tight deadlines, as projects may need quick turnaround for Monday release or social media updates. Balancing multiple assignments and responding to last-minute client feedback can be challenging. Effective time management, clear communication with producers or clients, and familiarity with efficient editing workflows are crucial for success. Leveraging templates and organizing assets in advance can also help streamline the editing process and reduce stress.

Job description

About the Project

TSMG is looking for participants to support a large-scale Robotics AI video data collection project.

You will wear a lightweight head-mounted camera while completing simple everyday or work-related tasks. The camera will record your hands, the objects you use, and the surrounding work area. The videos will help artificial intelligence and robotics systems learn how people perform real-world activities.

What You Will Do
  • Complete simple tasks while wearing a provided camera.
  • Perform activities at a normal, natural pace.
  • Record at least 4 hours of video per scheduled project day.
  • Follow basic recording, safety, privacy, and equipment instructions.
  • Use an Android or iOS smartphone to connect to the camera when required.
  • Repeat a task when the recording does not meet quality requirements.

Tasks may take place in retail stores, supermarkets, warehouses, logistics facilities, offices, manufacturing sites, laboratories, healthcare environments, and other approved locations.

Requirements
  • Must be of legal working age in your country.
  • Must have an Android or iOS smartphone.
  • Must be available for at least 4 hours of recording per scheduled day.
  • Must be comfortable wearing a lightweight head-mounted camera.
  • Must be able to follow simple instructions.
  • Basic English is preferred.
  • Previous experience is not required but may be helpful.
  • Must follow privacy rules and avoid recording confidential information or unauthorized people.

Some tasks may involve walking, organizing objects, stocking shelves, sorting, packing, cleaning, or using basic tools. Lifting tasks will only be assigned to participants who are comfortable performing them.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
