Job description

The Data Entry Clerk, under general supervision, enters information with a high degree of speed and accuracy, inputs large amounts of data into the customer information system and other Public Works software. This position supports the Customer Service Division of Business Operations. The Data Entry Operator must exercise good judgement, independent thinking, and personal initiative.

Essential Functions

Establishes and maintains utility accounts.

Verifies account eligibility and accessibility.

Prepares, distributes, and completes work orders.

Prepares files for mass customer communications.

Assists with mailing billing statements and other notices generated in house.

Scans or retains documents.

Performs monthly audits of incomplete account transfer request.

Enters data into Key Performance Indicator tracking databases.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Requires a High School Diploma or an acceptable equivalency diploma (GED), and two (2) years of experience as a high volume data entry operator or typist.

Licenses or Certifications:
None Specified.

Special Requirements:
Must pass computer skills, typing and accuracy, and 10-key skills testing for consideration.
