Job description

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:

  • Powered Industrial Truck Permit (requires a passing score on the Powered Industrial Truck training tests administered by Magna Seating Detroit)

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team oriented, communicates well with others, and able to interact with people at all levels and departments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and various manufacturing/business information software.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

Work performed in an office and/or manufacturing plant environment. Exposed to varying temperatures within the plant and on the shipping dock due to external weather conditions. Normal mobility to move around an office and/or manufacturing environment is required. Must be able to perform work on a computer. Continuously walks and stands. Frequently performs fine finger movements, grips/grasps, push/pulls, bends/stoops, lifts, and carries material/parts up to thirty (30) lbs. Occasionally, may operate a forklift truck or tugger.  Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed.

Requirements

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for shipping and receiving inspection and accuracy of all loads, ensuring 100% checks for correct revision levels when receiving truck loads
  • Monitoring inventory levels of raw components and Dock management, inventory discrepancy investigations, and adhering to the first in, first out (FIFO) protocol.
  • Ship and receive all incoming shipments by confirming materials quantities, part numbers, and revision levels, maintains receiving log for each shift and completes RDR reports, and completes GR in SAP.
  • Coordinate all yard activities, including direction to yard switching Team, yard trailer checks and trailer jack checks.
  • Escalate all late or missing deliveries.
  • Interface with Delivery Drivers to receive paperwork and provide direction for unloading or trailer parking
  • Report non-conformances during daily shifts and assist in problem solving to determine root cause, permanent corrective action, and containment activities.  
  • Isolate non-conforming material, identify product quality issues, and report to supervisor or management any business-related issues within the plant.
  • Assisting in expedites, delivery issues, part labeling, and identification. 
  • Adheres to minimum and maximum product levels.
  • Maintain return dunnage to correct suppliers and track in SAP.
  • Perform special projects in support of the organization's business objectives. 
  • Supports and enforces the principles of the Employee Charter, Company goals and objectives, and decisions and policies by taking ownership and communicating these in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Other duties as assigned, as required.
