Job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Technician to join a growing service and maintenance team supporting heavy-duty commercial vehicles. This role is ideal for professionals with strong diagnostic capabilities, hands-on mechanical expertise, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.

The successful candidate will independently perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel-powered trucks and equipment while maintaining high service standards and productivity.

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday
  • Day Shift
  • No weekends or overnight shifts
Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and heavy-duty commercial vehicles
  • Perform major and minor mechanical repairs according to manufacturer and industry standards
  • Inspect vehicles and identify required maintenance or safety-related repairs
  • Repair and maintain:
    • Diesel engines
    • Electrical systems
    • Air and hydraulic brake systems
    • Steering and suspension systems
    • Driveline and drivetrain components
    • Transmissions and differentials
  • Remove, install, and replace major components including injectors, clutches, bearings, cylinder heads, camshafts, batteries, and transmissions
  • Utilize computerized diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting and repair verification
  • Complete repair orders and maintenance documentation accurately
  • Conduct road tests when necessary to verify repairs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and compliance standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and technical training programs
  • Mentor junior technicians when needed
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical or vocational training in diesel or automotive technology preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working on diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks
  • Strong experience with diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Engine repair
    • Transmission systems
    • Driveline components
    • Steering systems
    • Brake systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and repair documentation
  • Proficient with diagnostic software and repair tools
  • ASE Certification and 608/609 Certifications preferred
  • Must possess personal tools required to perform assigned duties
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record required
  • Ability to obtain a CDL preferred
  • Stable and reliable work history
