The Pharmacy Technician - Materials Coordinator supports pharmacy supply chain and inventory operations for Cleveland Clinic facilities across Ohio, including Main Campus, Family Health Centers, physician offices, and other care locations. Based within the centralized pharmacy warehouse, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the timely receipt, management, and distribution of medications and supplies throughout the health system. Responsibilities include receiving inventory, fulfilling purchase orders, monitoring stock levels, coordinating deliveries to pharmacy locations, and collaborating closely with buyers, material coordinators, and pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient supply chain operations. This fast-paced, logistics-focused role offers unique exposure to the full medication distribution process and provides valuable insight into large-scale healthcare inventory management and pharmacy supply chain operations.

A caregiver in this role will work a full-time schedule consisting of four 10-hour shifts each week, typically Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 5:00am to 3:30pm. Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday coverage may be required based on operational needs.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Ensure continuous supplies aremaintainedwith little or no interruption.
  • Implement, manage, andmaintaininventory systems to order, control,expedite,and inventory supplies to enhance the fiscal management of the department.
  • Monitor reports and available publications for insightintoshortages anddetermineappropriate substituteitems.
  • Provideinformation to technicians while carrying out inventory controlfunction.
  • Maintain the proper andappropriate professionaland ethical relationship with vendor representativesandconductbusiness according to established principles and guidelines.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Associate's degreeorhighschool diploma/GED and three years of experience ina similarrole
  • Work history of using a computer

Must meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application:

  • Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR the National HealthCareer Association (NHA)
  • ANDit is required to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee. If certified but current status with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) is Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee it is required to update registration status to a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the OBOP within six months of hire.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Strong background in inventory management
  • At least 3 years of pharmacy technician or pharmacy inventory management experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
  • May require periods of sitting, standing and the ability to walk to various locations throughout the health system to attend meetings.
  • Must have normal or corrected vision and be able to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.
  • Must have own transportation due to travel to multiple sites.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $18.88

Maximum hourly: $28.80
