Job description

EXCITING OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Interventional Cardiologist, who has completed a fellowship, to become a part of our established Heart & Vascular team. Our practice includes a diverse group of providers, such as experienced physicians and advanced practitioners dedicated to delivering exceptional care.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

  • Option #1: A base salary of $748,530, which aligns with the 50th percentile of MGMA for recent graduates. This salary is guaranteed for two years, with the possibility to transition to a wRVU production contract upon surpassing targets.
  • Option #2: A base salary of $928,311, reflecting the 75th percentile of MGMA, guaranteed for the first year before moving to a wRVU production contract.

* A 5% reduction applies for those who have not yet achieved board certification, with salary adjustments made upon certification.

The two-year contract also includes:

  • Vacation: 29 days of paid time off (PTO), with an additional 5 days of PTO available upon achieving 75th percentile wRVUs.
  • CME/Books & Journals: 5 days of PTO and up to $5,000 for continuing medical education.
  • Deferred Compensation: Participation in a 457b plan, allowing deferral of up to $23,000 annually before taxes, with no matching contributions.
  • Retirement/Savings Plan: A 403b plan that permits deferral up to $23,000 annually before taxes for those under 50, and $30,500 for those over 50, with a dollar-for-dollar match up to 2% of base salary.
  • Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000 provided for moving expenses.
  • Malpractice Insurance: Coverage under a claims-made policy with limits of $2,000,000 per claim and $6,000,000 aggregate.
  • Health Insurance: A small premium deducted from paychecks for coverage.
  • Liquidated Damages: A non-compete clause of 70 miles for two years, or liquidated damages equivalent to one year’s salary.
  • CERP (Pay for Call) Program: Details provided by the VP of Finance.
  • Bonus Opportunities: Potential bonuses up to 10% of salary.
  • Medical School Loan Repayment: Up to $200,000 in repayment ($25,000 per year for each year of service commitment).
  • Residency Stipend: Up to $25,000, contingent on a two-year service commitment.
  • Sign-On Bonus: 15% of base salary, up to $100,000, payable upon signing the contract and forgiven over 2-4 years.

PRACTICE DETAILS:

  • Location: Our new outpatient clinic is situated on the main hospital campus at Suite 206, Braunlin Building, Portsmouth, OH 45662.
  • Office Hours: Monday to Thursday from 7 AM to 6 PM, and Friday from 7 AM to 12 PM.
  • Staff Composition: The team consists of 7 physicians (including interventional, non-invasive, CT surgery, and vascular surgery specialists), 5 advanced practitioners, 20 clinical staff members, 14 clerical staff, and 2 EKG technicians.
  • Call Schedule: A rotation of 1:3 on weekends and 1 night per week, with STEMI calls shared among 2 other interventional cardiologists. Additional compensation is available through the CERP program.
  • Case Load: Typical office week involves 35 patients per day, inpatient rounding week averages 30-40 patients per day, and cath lab week includes 12-14 procedures per day.
  • Equipment: Utilization of advanced technology including Phillips ECHO Systems, Phillips XPER Hemodynamics Cath Lab, Phillips Intellispace Cardiovascular, and Meditech Expance EHR.
  • Practice Expectations: We are looking for a dedicated, personable team player who prioritizes patient-centered care and collaborates effectively with colleagues and staff.
