Description General Description Under general direction, the Destination Marketing Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing marketing initiatives that promote Yukon as a destination to visit, live, work, and invest. This position manages digital communications, develops marketing content, supports tourism and economic development initiatives, builds relationships with local businesses and community partners, and assists with special events. The coordinator serves as the primary marketing resource for Visit Yukon while also supporting Yukon Economic Development and Yukon Public Art through strategic communications and community engagement.

Examples of Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop, schedule, and manage social media content across Visit Yukon, YukonEconomic Development, and Yukon Public Art platforms. Create and execute destination marketing campaigns that promote tourism,community events, quality of life, and economic development initiatives. Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, hotels, attractions, eventorganizers, chambers, and regional tourism partners to strengthen collaborationand visitor experiences.

Serve as a liaison with small business owners and community stakeholders toidentify promotional opportunities and coordinate marketing initiatives. Capture professional photography and video for use across digital, print,advertising, and promotional campaigns. Produce and edit marketing materials using Adobe Creative Suite or comparable creative software.

Update and maintain City tourism and economic development websites, including experience with platforms such as WordPress, Wix, or similar content management systems. Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing tourism, economic development, and community events, including occasional evening and weekend activities. Support Economic Development Department initiatives, ribbon cuttings, business retention and expansion activities, conferences, trade shows, and special events as assigned.

Monitor campaign performance and prepare reports using website analytics, social media insights, and digital marketing metrics. Perform other related duties as assigned. Typical Qualifications Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience in marketing, communications, tourism, hospitality, event management, economic development, Main Street, chamber of commerce, or related field. Associate or bachelor's degree in marketing, tourism, communications, public relations, hospitality, or a related field preferred. Experience with tourism organizations, chambers, municipalities, or nonprofit organizations preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Valid Oklahoma Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create engaging content for a variety of audiences. Experience managing professional social media platforms for an organization, business, municipality, or nonprofit.

Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar graphic design and content creation software. Ability to capture and edit quality photography and video for marketing and promotional purposes. Experience updating and maintaining websites using WordPress, Wix, or similar content management systems.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to build positive working relationships with businesses, community organizations, tourism partners, and the public. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and represent the City professionally. Knowledge of digital marketing, website analytics, and social media performance metrics is preferred. Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of meetings, festivals, community events, and promotional activities.

Supplemental Information Working Conditions Work is performed primarily in an office environment with occasional travel throughout the community. May require attendance at evening and weekend events, meetings, and promotional activities. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach as needed.

Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Ability to operate standard office equipment and a City vehicle. Supervision Received Works under the general supervision of the Economic Development Director.

Contacts and Relationships Frequent interaction with businesses, tourism partners, visitors, community organizations, City staff, and the public. Requires professionalism, diplomacy, and strong customer service skills.
