POSITION SUMMARY
The Public Relations & Events Specialist strengthens GRAND Mental Health's brand presence, builds community relationships, and coordinates memorable events that support organizational growth. This role is responsible for managing public relations efforts, planning and executing events, creating engaging marketing content, and representing GRAND Mental Health in a professional and positive manner.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in public relations, event planning, marketing, or communications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Experience with social media platforms and basic graphic design tools, such as Canva, is preferred.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Professional, energetic, and personable with strong networking skills.
• Occasional evening and weekend availability for events.
KNOWLEDGE AND PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Public Relations & Brand Communications
• Develop and maintain relationships with local media, community organizations, and business partners.
• Create press releases, newsletters, and promotional materials.
• Manage social media content related to events, promotions, and company news.
• Assist with marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness and customer engagement.
• Maintain a consistent and professional brand image across all communications.
Event Planning & Coordination
• Plan, organize, and execute promotional events, grand openings, open houses, workshops, and community outreach activities.
• Coordinate event logistics, including vendors, venues, sponsorships, budgets, and timelines.
• Represent GRAND Mental Health at networking events, trade shows, and community functions.
Community Partnerships & Engagement
• Build strategic partnerships with local businesses and influencers.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships that strengthen community engagement and brand recognition.
Marketing Performance & Collaboration
• Monitor marketing and event performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with management on promotional strategies and special projects.
Other Duties
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or Chief Executive Officer.
• Must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel normally associated with this position.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job requirement.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all organizational policies, professional standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
• Community engagement and brand recognition increase.
• Events are well organized, successful, and attract new clients.
• Strong relationships are maintained with media, community partners, and local businesses.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position may require travel to organizational locations, community partner sites, networking events, trade shows, and other event venues. Occasional evening and weekend availability is required for events. Work may be performed in office, community, meeting, and event environments.
