Radiation Therapist (Oncology)

Location: Kenosha, WI 53142

Outpatient Radiation Oncology department equipped with 2 Linear Accelerators, providing high-quality cancer care to an adult-only patient population in a collaborative and well-supported environment.

Position Summary

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering prescribed radiation therapy treatments accurately and safely using advanced radiation equipment. This role requires proficiency with Varian TrueBeam and ARIA, strong attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach to care.

Department & Patient Details
  • Linear Accelerators: 2
  • Average Daily Census: 20–45 patients
  • Patient Population: Adult oncology patients (all cancer-related diagnoses)
  • Patient Ratio: 2:1
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year with Varian TrueBeam and ARIA
  • Traveler Experience: First-time travelers accepted
  • Certifications:
    • BLS
    • ARRT – Radiation Therapy
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer radiation treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist
  • Operate and maintain Linear Accelerator equipment safely and accurately
  • Perform patient setup, positioning, and immobilization procedures
  • Verify treatment plans and parameters using ARIA EMR
  • Monitor patients during treatment and ensure comfort and safety
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards and departmental protocols
  • Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Physicists, RNs, and therapy staff
  • Document treatments and patient interactions accurately
Required & Preferred Skills

Required:

  • Varian TrueBeam experience
  • ARIA EMR proficiency
  • Linear Accelerator operation
  • Radiation treatment delivery

Preferred:

  • DIBH (Deep Inspiration Breath Hold)
  • SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy)
