Direct Care Coach-Temporary

Position Type: -Temporary Full-Time; Hourly Non-Exempt

Department: Womenโ€™s Residential Program

Reports to: Assistant Program Director

Hours: Full-time; Monday- Friday, 2:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M.

Location: Duluth, GA

Position Summary: The Direct Care Coach is responsible for the daily care and supervision of the Womenโ€™s Residential Program participants. This role provides a supportive environment in collaboration with the therapeutic, educational, and life skills staff to meet organizational goals and individual participant goals.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Program Service Delivery

โˆ™ Follow the daily program schedule as set by program leaders and participate in activities

โˆ™ Actively model the strength-based approach with participant and staff interactions

โˆ™ Collaborate with program leaders to develop and implement participant support plans, personal growth plans, and development plans

โˆ™ Safely transport participants to appointments and activities in organization vehicles and assist with vehicle maintenance and safety

โˆ™ Complete and document hourly house checks for participants during sleeping hours, as well as room checks for participants identified as a potential danger to themselves

โˆ™ Lead participant enrichment activities and psycho-educational groups during evenings and weekends, developing groups/activities based on participant needs and interests

โˆ™ Ensure facility and security excellence by participating in safety drills and planning

โˆ™ Support proper medication oversight, including administering random drug screens and following medication protocol to document medication use of participants

โˆ™ Attend all mandatory trainings and staff meetings, including direct care training; utilize all trained skills, including the strength-based approach with participants and staff

โˆ™ Ensure effective documentation, including balanced living tracking sheets for the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system

โˆ™ Provide safety checks and maintain cleanliness of the home; teach participants daily living skills including personal hygiene, laundry, and cleaning

โˆ™ Perform administrative functions, such as completing accurate and detailed documentation in daily shift logs, room check sheets, balanced living sheets, and medication logs

โˆ™ Maintain flexibility when possible to address coverage or other emergencies

โˆ™ Follow all program policies, procedures, and guidelines

โˆ™ Provide care to program participants without regard to race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, or religious or spiritual beliefs

โˆ™ Provide care that is culturally competent for participants who have a history of trauma

Professional Qualifications:

โˆ™ Administrative, organizational, and computer skills including use of email and Microsoft Office suite of products

โˆ™ Documentation of references (at least two professional and one personal) that attest to the personโ€™s capability of performing the duties of the position and to the personโ€™s suitability of working with or around vulnerable populations

โˆ™ High school diploma or GED required; associateโ€™s degree or higher in a behavioral or social science field preferred

โˆ™ Minimum 1 year of related experience in residential direct care support for relevant populations

Position Requirements:

โˆ™ Moderate local travel related to participant and program needs, including ongoing clearance for driving organization vehicles and transporting participants, as well as occasional travel for training

โˆ™ Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds and work for long periods at a computer

โˆ™ Satisfactory criminal history background check, as well as a satisfactory fingerprint records check determination as required by law

โˆ™ Clean Motor Vehicle Record

โˆ™ Current evidence of successful completion of a biennial training program in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and a triennial training program in first aid which have been offered by a certified or licensed health care professional; such programs shall be completed within the first year of employment
