Job description

Position Summary:

The Dentist provides comprehensive oral health services to patients of all ages in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting. This role supports EXCELth’ s mission to improve access to quality, affordable dental care in underserved communities. The Dentist works collaboratively with the dental team to promote oral health education, prevention, and treatment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and complex dental procedures including exams, cleanings, fillings, extractions, crowns, and dentures.
  • Diagnose and develop treatment plans for patients in accordance with accepted dental practices.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, CDC, and state dental board regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer reviews.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to support integrated care.
  • Supervise and mentor dental Residents, assistants and hygienists as needed.
  • Participation in the Teledentistry and Dental Mobile Unit programs as needed.
  • Qualifications:
  • DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
  • Current Louisiana dental license in good standing.
  • DEA registration and CPR certification.
  • Experience working in community health or FQHC preferred.
  • Commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Working Conditions:
