Job description

Company Overview
Aggregate Resource Industries, Inc. (ARI) is a leading mining and construction services contractor headquartered in Springfield, Oregon. We specialize in providing comprehensive solutions for the mining and construction industries, including rock drilling, blasting, and crushing operations throughout the United States. Our commitment to safety, innovation, and quality has established ARI as a trusted partner for mining and construction projects nationwide — and earned us recognition as one of Oregon’s Top Workplaces for our dedication to employees and culture.

Position Overview
The Lube Technician plays an important role in supporting the reliability, safety, and performance of ARI's fleet of heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, and support equipment. This hands-on position performs preventative maintenance, lubrication services, equipment inspections, fluid services, and minor repairs to maximize equipment reliability and availability while supporting safe and efficient field operations.
This role works independently in the field, traveling between active job sites to service and maintain equipment where it operates. The Lube Technician is responsible for completing scheduled preventative maintenance, identifying potential mechanical concerns during routine inspections, accurately documenting completed work, and communicating equipment needs with operators and the maintenance team to support proactive maintenance planning.
The position follows a Friday through Monday schedule and plays a key role in preparing and maintaining equipment to ensure ARI's fleet is ready to support operations throughout the workweek. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced field environment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and takes pride in preventative maintenance and equipment care. Previous experience performing lubrication services, preventative maintenance, or servicing heavy equipment, diesel equipment, or commercial vehicles is preferred. The company is willing to develop and train individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.

Schedule
  • Full-Time Schedule: This position typically works Friday through Monday, with standard shifts generally ranging from 10–12 hours and extending as operational needs require.
  • Travel: Regular travel to field locations is required, with overnight stays as needed to support assigned work.

Compensation
  • Wage Range: $26.00–$32.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Weekend Differential: Employees are eligible for an additional $10.00 per hour for hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible for ARI's comprehensive benefits package.

Job Requirements and Qualifications
  • Relevant Experience: Previous experience performing preventative maintenance or working around heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, construction, mining, or materials-handling operations is preferred.
  • Education: Technical or vocational training in mechanics, diesel technology, heavy equipment maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Working knowledge of routine maintenance practices, fluid systems, filters, lubrication points, inspections, and minor equipment repairs.
  • Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with no more than three moving violations and/or chargeable accidents within the last three years and no DUIIs.
  • Travel Requirements: Ability and willingness to travel away from home, work a Friday-through-Monday schedule, and work extended shifts in field environments.
  • ATF clearance: Must pass a background check through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in compliance with federal explosive handling regulations.
  • Pre-Employment Requirements: Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and physical. ARI also conducts random and post-accident drug testing.

Additional Skills Required
  • Values-Driven: Demonstrates ARI's core values of Team, Integrity, Grit, and Elevate through daily work and interactions.
  • Communication: Communicates clearly and professionally with operators, maintenance personnel, supervisors, customers, and vendors.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies maintenance concerns, performs basic troubleshooting, and communicates repair needs before they result in avoidable downtime.
  • Adaptability: Works effectively across changing field conditions, equipment needs, schedules, and operational priorities.
  • Attention to Detail: Completes inspections, service work, and documentation thoroughly and accurately.
  • Safety Awareness: Maintains a safety-first mindset and follows established procedures for equipment isolation, fluid handling, housekeeping, and environmental protection.

Job Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventative maintenance services on heavy equipment, vehicles, and support equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and ARI maintenance standards.
  • Lubrication and Fluid Service: Complete oil and filter changes, grease equipment, inspect and replenish fluids, and service lubrication points using the correct products and procedures.
  • Equipment Inspections: Inspect equipment during each service for leaks, wear, damage, loose components, and other conditions that may affect safe operation or reliability.
  • Minor Repairs and Troubleshooting: Perform basic troubleshooting and minor mechanical repairs within the scope of the position and promptly communicate needs requiring additional technical support.
  • Field Service Support: Respond to assigned field maintenance needs and coordinate with operators and maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Proactive Maintenance Coordination: Review open work orders for equipment near assigned service locations and communicate with operators to identify additional maintenance concerns.
  • Parts and Supplies: Maintain service supplies, filters, fluids, tools, and commonly used parts needed to complete assigned work efficiently.
  • Maintenance Documentation: Complete work orders, service records, inspection notes, fluid usage, and repair recommendations accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Technical Information: Read and follow maintenance manuals, service schedules, diagrams, and manufacturer specifications relevant to assigned work.
  • Operational Support: Perform other duties necessary to support ARI's Operations, Fleet, and Product Support teams.
