Job description

To facilitate the provision of patient care by performing specific nursing tasks and other support functions in compliance with hospital policy and procedures as delegated by licensed nursing personnel.

(Must work 4 shifts a month; one shift has to be on the weekend)

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.

Education Requirements/Position Requirements (Must be certified in Alabama):

  • Validation of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be able to validate CNA certification.
  • Will consider Medical Assistant and teach bedside care.
  • Will consider Paramedic/EMT experience and teach bedside care.
  • Will consider care technician applicant with at least 3 years of recent patient care experience.
  • BLS completion within 90 days of hire date.
  • If currently enrolled in a nursing program, completion of Fundamentals of Nursing is a requirement.
  • Must be able to work 2 full 12-hour shifts per schedule.
  • Must be willing to take 2 on-call shifts per schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Rehab experience preferred but not required.
  • Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of Nurse Managers, RN’s and LPN’s.
  • Provides for personal care, comfort, and assures patient safety.
  • Must be able to arrive no later than 6:30 a.m. and be available to work every other weekend,
  • Must be dependable, hardworking, and a team player with a good attitude and professional behavior.
  • Applicants will be responsible for vital signs, assisting nursing personnel, and helping patients with basic daily needs.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate and carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.
  • Other duties as assigned.
