Job description

Enterprise F-35 Instructor Pilot

Job Description

The successful candidate will function as an Enterprise F-35 Instructor Pilot. The candidate will instruct basic and tactical events executing the approved customer training syllabus when piloting the Full Mission Simulator (FMSim). The candidate will operate the Instructor Operating Stations (IOS), instruct academic training utilizing Electronic Mediated Lecture (EML) and/or Interactive Courseware (ICW), and will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all pilot training courseware updates. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Lockheed Martin training team, as well as CONUS/OCONUS sites and customers to fulfill F-35 training requirements. This position is in support of multiple F-35A Squadrons at Hill AFB, as well as additional F-35 training and operational sites. Must be willing to travel up to 25% in support of F-35 Enterprise CONUS/OCONUS locations depending on operational needs or to provide system upgrade training for the customer. Employment will be contingent on agreement and compliance with such requirements.

Basic Qualifications: Current security investigation within 5 years from adjudication. Candidate must be able to attain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) certification. Candidate must have a minimum of 1000 hours flight time in fourth and/or fifth generation fighter aircraft. Candidate must have outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent leadership traits, strong oral and written communication abilities, and a strong desire to provide outstanding support to the customer. Candidate must be willing to support flexible work hours to align with customer operational schedule and to travel to support the customer.

Desired Skills: Weapons School, Top Gun, or Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron (MAWTS) program graduate with F-35A/B/C flight time within the past two years. Multi Tour FRS (Fleet Readiness Squadron) Instructor or FTU equivalent with tactical qualifications.

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
