Job description

The Systems Engineer will ensure RWS system hardware and software are compatible and capable of required performance metrics. Will coordinate system development tasks to include design, development, integration, and formal testing. Oversees all transitions into production. Will develop and complete actions in systems specifications, technical and logistical requirements, and other disciplines. Creates and maintains programmatic and technical documentation to ensure effective, efficient planning and execution. Manages and documents system configurations. This is an On-Site Position

Minimum Requirements And Qualification

  • BA/BS Degree in Engineering, computer technology or related technical field required.
  • 5+ years of applicable experience.
  • Ability to understand and coordinate with engineering efforts to include complex hardware development, network architectures, software development, and computer architectures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong math aptitude and exceptional attention to detail required.
  • Ability to successfully present technical information and defend positions is necessary.
  • A detailed understanding of gimbals, structures, force application/mitigation, IR and visual sensors, and Semi-active laser sensors is also highly desirable.
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering preferred
  • Experience with Cameo preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with good command of English language, is a fundamental requirement.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Ability to mentor, train and develop team members.
  • Ability to travel, as needed.

Major Responsibility Areas And Duties

  • The primary responsibilities of this position are developing system requirements, performing requirements management, performing requirements verification, performing compliance assessments in support of major design reviews, and performing model-based systems engineering using technical planning; system integration, verification and validation. This position is also responsible for using MBSE and Engineering tools to identifying different program requirements, tracking performance metrics, and managing the systems engineering process.
  • Provide systems engineering design direction and design review support.
  • Ensure that all requirements are identified, captured and analyzed and that they form the basis of development activities.
  • Coordinate the systems engineering review process for the whole product development lifecycle.
  • Coordinate developmental verification and validation activities and ensure capture of analysis and test results allowing sign-off of requirements.
  • Provide integrated logistics support to the development team through reliability, maintainability and availability analysis.
  • Support new business opportunities and assist in the development of responses to customer and industry enquiries including RFQ's, tender responses; industry requests for information and other communication as required.
  • Engage with customers and other EOS engineering groups both locally and internationally to solidify system requirements.
  • Engage the Project Management Group regarding systems engineering, project management, documentation, and quality activities.
  • Other duties as assigned, not determined at the time of hire.
