Job description

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to conduct or contribute to engineering analyses and trade studies. This individual will assist in transforming MDA systems engineering processes by integrating advanced digital tools, fostering collaboration, and driving efficiency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop systems engineering modernization strategies and implementation plans.
  • Participate in technical interchange meetings with stakeholders and provide technical reviews of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) data.
  • Foster real-time, multi-user collaboration across engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Analyze Department of War (DoW) and MDA strategies, plans, policies, and processes and collaborate with senior leadership, technical teams, and stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • Promote efficiency, agility, and traceability in fast-paced engineering environments.
  • Participate in the preparation and presentation of briefings to senior leaders.
  • Collaborate with diverse groups and joint initiatives and work in highly adaptive environments.
  • Provide recommendations supported by results and engineering experience.

Job Requirements:
  • US citizenship and secret level clearance is required.
  • Master's Degree in STEM field or equivalent experience. 8 or more years applicable, progressively complex, systems engineering experience OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM field or equivalent experience. 10 or more years applicable, progressively complex, systems engineering experience.
  • Work well in a team culture which prioritizes collaboration, mutual respect, and mission success, but also able to self-start and work independently.
  • Clear grasp of systems thinking, but capable of performing detailed analysis.
  • Proven experience in establishing, mentoring, and driving Systems Engineering best practices across organizations.
  • Transformation minded and growth oriented.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including executive-level communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in missile defense, preferably with the Missile Defense System or other large scale DoW Systems-of-Systems (SoS).
  • A degree in Systems Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Mastery of digital engineering transformation tools, methodologies, and implementation strategies.
  • Formal training and/or experience in Systems Engineering standards and practices such as the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook, the Systems Engineering Body of Knowledge, and ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288.
  • Comprehensive mastery of requirements engineering, traceability frameworks, and full system life cycle engineering methodologies.
