Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
Drives the ramp scrubbing and sweeping machines for the purpose of cleaning airport rampย areas and taxiways by removing debris, oil, fuel and lavatory spills, etc. May also clean parkingย lots.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Performs pre-inspection of exterior and interior of vehicle and reports any issues toย supervisor, manager or mechanic on duty.ย 
  • Coordinates daily with client operations for scheduling of gate and ramp cleanups.ย 
  • Cleans aircraft gate and ramp areas of debris: oil, fuel, lavatory spills, etc., any other foreignย objects.ย 
  • Responds to emergency calls for cleaning ramp area of spills or foreign objects.ย 
  • Cleans machine(s).ย 
  • Monitors supplies and materials.ย 
  • May be required to exit the vehicle to collect large debris not picked up by the sweeper.ย 
  • Completes any daily paperwork that his/her position requires.ย 
  • Participates in ISO practices and embraces ISO principles and philosophies in theย performance of principal duties and responsibilities.ย 
  • Makes Safety the first consideration above all other responsibilities. Follows all safety rulesย and uses sound judgment for the protection ofย  him/herself, co-workers, client personnel,ย client invitees, general public and property. Participates in safety training and attendsย safety meetings as scheduled by Supervisor. Also, responsible to report to his/herย supervisor any unsafe conditions or practices.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but notย required. A minimum of one year of related experience and/or training preferred
but not required.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to write simpleย correspondence. Ability to effectively interface and present information in one-on one
situations to clients and employees of the organization.
