What are the typical responsibilities and work environment for a weekend surgical tech?

As a Weekend Surgical Tech, you will primarily assist surgeons and nurses in the operating room by preparing and passing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and supporting patient care before, during, and after procedures. To thrive as a Weekend Surgical Tech, you need a solid understanding of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and instrument handling, typically obtained through a surgical technology program and certification (such as CST or NCCT). Familiarity with surgical tools, operating room protocols, and electronic health record (EHR) systems is essential.
