Job Description
About You: As a professional Surgical Technician, you view each of your patients as if you were treating a beloved family member or dear friend. You possess a strong passion for being a trusted teammate in the operating room. You are intellectually curious and look for opportunities to cross-train to display your skills in multiple operating room disciplines, such as heart, neuro, orthopedic and robotics.
Your mission, as a vital part of the surgical team, is to assist in direct care to patients, while continually supporting your surgeons and nurses by selecting, setting up, and passing of sterile instruments to the surgeon and assistants. You will embrace best-in-class nursing processes to provide excellence in nursing care to your patients in all settings and in collaboration with other health care providers. Further responsibilities include:
Accountability for your professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law. Utilizing organizational resources you will act as a patient advocate for the delivery of safe care including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement activities. Requirements
Associates in Surgical Technology from an approved school
Certification from the National board of Surgical Technology (NBSTA) or applicable on the job or military training
*Surgical Techs without proper certification must acquire certification within one year of hire date
Current BLS certification
Two years current experience as a Surgical Technician highly preferred
Excellent professional customer service skills and communication both verbal and written
Ability to juggle multiple priorities with ease in a fast paced environment
