Caregiver / Direct Support Professional – Griffin, GA 30223

Position: Caregiver / DSP (Veteran Support – Standby Moderate Care)
Location: Griffin, GA 30223
Schedule: Part-time | Weekends Only (Saturday & Sunday) | Standby / As-Needed Support
Pay: $14–$16/hr

Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable caregiver to provide weekend standby support for a veteran client in Griffin, GA. This role focuses on moderate-level care assistance, meaning the caregiver should be ready to step in as needed for safety, mobility support, and daily living assistance while also providing respectful companionship and maintaining a calm, supportive presence in the home.

This is a client-centered, dignity-first role where reliability and attentiveness matter just as much as hands-on care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide companionship and supportive presence throughout scheduled standby hours
  • Assist with personal care and/or moderate care needs as required (mobility support, standby assistance, ADL support)
  • Support safe movement and transfers as needed (no heavy total-care unless specified)
  • Monitor client well-being and report any changes to office staff
  • Encourage hydration, nutrition, and general wellness routines
  • Maintain clear, timely communication with care team
  • Respond appropriately if client needs escalate during shift

Requirements:

  • CNA, PCA, or relevant caregiving certification preferred
  • CPR & First Aid certification (CURRENT and REQUIRED — must be up to date at time of hire)
  • Current TB test
  • Prior caregiving or healthcare experience preferred
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Professionalism, patience, and strong reliability
  • Comfort working weekend standby assignments
