The Sales Representative position is primarily responsible for generating new business opportunities through offering creative solutions to drive business growth. The major functions of this position include providing consultation or expert advice to management, representing the company during important contract negotiations as well as the ability to collaborate with various departments in order to generate value-added-solutions to existing customers through the development of innovative/effective programs. Overall the responsibilities with both potential/existing clients are to manage the sale process in order to increase sales volume and overall company profitability.
  • Work with Senior Sales Representative on the acquisition and development of new and existing customers as well as expansion into new and existing Southeast Markets. Travel is required.
  • Develop existing territory volume and profitability by developing and offering risk management programs which share benefits between the customer and Guttman Energy.
  • Identify and execute logistical market arbitrages on a real time basis and work with scheduling for inventory management.
  • Provide differential pricing and execution of sales on a real time basis for all products offered.
  • Maintain and manage customer differential and priced positions using log billing and/or FIFO accounting.
  • Maintain and manage a net zero balance on inventory/hedged positions and communicate to supply and accounting.
  • Work as part of a team environment by providing support to Senior Sales Representative, Supply, Inventory Control and Scheduling (e.g., during holidays, vacation time periods, covering teammates on outside sales calls, etc.). Provide after hours and weekend support as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a relationship and demonstrate the ability to communicate with Terminal Scheduling (KM, Magellan, Buckeye, Zenith).
  • Utilize DTN Customer Interface for proper allocation of products.
  • Accurate and timely documentation of all deals.

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Ability to listen to others, express ideas both orally and in writing and provide relevant and timely information to clients, managers, etc.
  • Ability to think innovatively to create value added solutions for prospects and customers in a competitive and commoditized industry to achieve individual and company objectives is required Ability to understand problems and make timely, practical business decisions
  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Experience and understanding working in Windows, Internet Explorer and MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Minimum of two years of experience customer service and systems support
  • Ability to work in our Bel Air, MD office five days per week.
