This position is located on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. It is an unaccompanied position (no family accommodations or pets). Benefits of this unique location include free housing, three meals a day and potential for U.S. overseas tax incentives.
Essential Functions
  • Install, maintain, monitor, and support multiple database servers on physical and virtual platforms in support of RTS initiatives.
  • Able to troubleshoot issues that arise as well as look for issues proactively.
  • Maintain a secure computing environment, including adherence to a backup schedule, patching of all systems and reviewing weekly ACAS scans, and applying all applicable STIGs.
  • Able to effectively work on remote systems located in the Marshall Islands.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, and within the wider RGNext business units.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Required Skills
  • Hands-on experience implementing databases and SQL servers along with proven record of documentation.
  • Extensive experience with SQL servers and Windows operating systems for all currently supported versions, and at least TSQL experience.
  • Database design and coding experience with TSQL.
  • Experience implementing highly available database designs.
  • Ability to create scripts required to perform database and server management tasks per STIG requirements.
  • Oracle database experience desired.
  • Basic VMware vSphere experience a plus.

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Five (5) or more years' experience working in related field in Information Technology.
  • Must have and maintain or be able to obtain prior to start date a Security+, CySA+, GICSP, or similar certification meeting DoD 8140.01 / DoD 8570.01 baseline certification for IAT Level II.
  • Must have and maintain or be able to obtain within three months of start date a CE (Computer Environment), Linux+, Server+, or similar certification meeting DoD 8140.01/ DoD 8570.01 baseline certification for IAT Level II.
  • Must apply extensive knowledge of a variety of Cyber Security field concepts, practices, and procedures to ensure the secure integration and operation of enclave systems.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport
  • This position is unaccompanied.
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
