Overview Kforce is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Data Analyst to support a mission-critical federal program focused on transforming complex data into actionable intelligence and operational insights. This role is ideal for a highly experienced Data Analyst who can work independently with mission stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership to identify analytical requirements, perform exploratory data analysis, and develop meaningful reporting solutions. The selected candidate will be responsible for extracting, analyzing, validating, documenting, and visualizing data to support strategic and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Python, SQL, Power BI, GitLab, data documentation, and exploratory data analysis (EDA) while serving as a trusted advisor across multiple teams and functional areas. Key Responsibilities
Serve as the lead data analysis SME supporting mission-critical business and technical initiatives
Collaborate directly with stakeholders to gather, refine, and document data analysis requirements
Perform advanced Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to identify trends, anomalies, relationships, and data quality issues
Analyze large structured and semi-structured datasets using Python and SQL
Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI
Translate business questions into analytical solutions and actionable recommendations
Create and maintain data dictionaries, metadata, business rules, and technical documentation
Support data validation, cleansing, and quality assurance efforts
Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences

10+ years of experience supporting data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics initiatives
Strong expertise with Python for data analysis and transformation
Advanced experience with SQL for querying and analyzing large datasets
Experience conducting Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)
Experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI
Experience utilizing GitLab for source control and collaboration
Experience creating and maintaining data documentation, metadata, and reporting artifacts
Demonstrated ability to independently gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements
Strong experience presenting analytical findings to stakeholders and leadership
