2nd Shift Food Production Supervisor

Up to $75,000 Base + Paid Saturday Overtime + Bonus • Jefferson, WI Area

  • PAY & OVERTIME: Up to $75,000 base salary (commensurate with leadership experience) + 1.5x overtime rate for occasional Saturday runs + annual performance bonus + corporate benefits.
  • WORK SCHEDULE: 2nd Shift | Monday – Friday (1:30 PM – 11:30 PM) | Fixed weekday schedule with overtime incentives for Saturday operational needs.
  • EXPERIENCE DEPTH: 3+ years directing shop-floor production crews within food processing, beverage bottling, packaging, or highly regulated sanitary manufacturing plants.
  • REGULATORY KNOWLEDGE: Strong working knowledge of food safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines (SQF, FDA, HACCP, and GMP standards).
  • UNION & SYSTEMS FLUENCY: Comfortable leading teams within a union shop environment while tracking output via ERP software and MS Office.
  • RESIDENCY & ELIGIBILITY: US Citizen or Green Card holder residing within a comfortable, daily 45-minute driving distance of Jefferson, WI.

If you are a disciplined manufacturing supervisor looking to escape high-turnover processing plants or uncompensated weekend grinds, this direct-hire leadership role offers a major step up. The employer is a rapidly growing, highly respected food manufacturing powerhouse that actively preserves a tight-knit, family-oriented corporate culture. Known for treating its employees exceptionally well and investing heavily in professional growth, they provide a stable platform where leaders build lifelong careers.

As the Lead Operations Supervisor, you will take the reins of the second-shift production crew across heavily automated, world-class sanitary processing lines. You won't just be monitoring machinery; you will shape team culture, drive continuous improvement metrics, and own the safety, quality, and throughput of your production window—backed by a clear structured path toward senior operations management.

What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)
  • Drive Floor Operations: Provide direct shift floor leadership, mentoring and motivating a high-performing production crew, managing daily shift schedules, and optimizing labor allocation across active lines.
  • Maximize Line Throughput: Optimize raw material flow and resource allocation to minimize downtime, eliminate bottlenecks, and consistently achieve aggressive shift output targets.
  • Champion Food Safety Standards: Enforce strict food safety protocols, championing a culture of absolute compliance with FDA, SQF, HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement: Lead localized continuous improvement (Lean/5S) projects to enhance floor procedures, cut waste, and boost Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Manage Shift Handoffs: Facilitate seamless cross-shift communication and structured handoffs between first and second shift teams.
  • Maintain Plant Safety Protocols: Maintain a zero-incident safety culture, conducting risk assessments, addressing shop-floor hazards, and managing daily shift performance logs via ERP/software systems.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)
  • 3+ Years Supervisory Background: Verifiable supervisory experience in a sanitary, climate-controlled, or highly regulated plant setting (food processing, beverage, consumer goods, or blending).
  • Proven Team Leadership: Proven leadership capability to direct, motivate, and hold a diverse production workforce accountable to productivity and safety metrics.
  • Union Relations Competency: Comfortable navigating the nuances of a union environment, maintaining fair labor practices, and resolving floor issues with professional diplomacy.
  • Technical & Software Fluency: Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook) or ERP/MES production tracking systems.
  • Stable Professional History: Progressive professional record demonstrating reliability, strong attendance, and multi-year tenures.
  • Local Commute Access: Proximity to the facility, residing within a dependable 45-minute daily driving radius of the Jefferson, WI area.
Preferred Technical Assets (Bonus Skills)
  • SQF / HACCP Certifications: Formal credentials or active certifications in HACCP coordination or SQF Practitioner standards.
  • High-Speed Packaging Experience: Direct familiarity with automated high-speed primary or secondary packaging lines for consumer goods.
  • Lean / Six Sigma Credentials: Green Belt or formal Lean training in root-cause analysis and waste reduction.
