Position Summary
****This is an onsite position located in the St. Louis, Missouri area. Candidates should apply only if they are able to be physically present and available to work onsite by the start date**** STLCC is seeking Adjunct instructors in the Foreign Language department at our Florissant Valley campus. Area of specialization primarily needed is Spanish language and culture during daytime hours.
Adjunct Faculty are part-time faculty members who provide high-quality instruction in assigned courses in accordance with approved course outlines, departmental standards, and College policies. Adjunct faculty focus primarily on teaching and student learning and are responsible for maintaining instructional quality, academic integrity, and a supportive learning environment. Assignments are course-based and may vary by term, modality, and campus.
Primary Duties Performed
โ€ข preparing and planning for instructing assigned class(es) in accordance with course objectives
โ€ข preparing and correcting examinations and other student work assignments
โ€ข maintain detailed class records
โ€ข utilize current technology
โ€ข maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics
โ€ข attend required meetings
โ€ข complete required college trainings
โ€ข other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Experience
Masters degree in Spanish or other area with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Spanish Language.
PREFERRED:
Experience in teaching Spanish language classes.
Working Conditions
  • Evening, weekend, or online teaching assignments may be required depending on course scheduling
Physical Requirements:
  • Negligible to moderate physical activity, which may include standing for extended periods, light lifting of instructional materials, and use of standard classroom or computer equipment.
