Job Summary:
Base-2 Solutions is looking for a top-notch software engineer to join their team, driven to solve challenging customer problems with innovative technical solutions. The role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems while working individually or as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
• Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
• Works individually or as part of a team.
• Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
• Resolves software problem reports.
• Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
• Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Seven (7) years experience as a software engineer is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance is required.
Preferred:
• Experience with programming languages such as Java, C#, C++, JavaScript, Python, Scala, Ruby and Go
• Experience with IDEs such as Eclipse, NetBeans, IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, Visual Studio and VS Code
• Experience with operating systems such as Windows, Unix, Linux and macOS
• Experience with team collaboration and issue tracking tools such as Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence), GitHub and ServiceNow
• Experience with software frameworks such as Spring, Angular and Bootstrap
• Experience with databases such as Oracle, MySQL and MongoDB
• Experience with build tools such as Maven and Jenkins
• Experience with containers and container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Git, SVN and CVS
• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud
