We enable clients to stay ahead with the latest advancements by transforming engineering teams and modernizing technology & data platforms. Our delivery models are tailored to meet each client's unique requirements.

Recruiting for this role ends on 11/1/2026.

Work you'll do

As a Senior Consultant, Software Engineer III, AI & Engineering on the Engineering as a Service team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and delivering full-stack software and AI-enabled solutions for client engagements.

  • Architect, design and implement scalable full-stack features across front-end and back-end systems.
  • Design and operationalize RESTful and asynchronous APIs on cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, Azure or GCP), including containerized workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex features from requirements gathering through deployment and monitoring.
  • Integrate large language model platforms and generative artificial intelligence application programming interfaces, including Anthropic Claude, to deliver context-aware features, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, tool-calling workflows, and automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions, estimate work, and contribute to code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot defects, improve application performance, write automated tests, and support production readiness activities, including incident response and on-call rotations.

A successful candidate would possess these skills:

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
  • Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
  • Ability to lead projects or workstreams
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to provide clear guidance to others

  • At least 1 year of direct experience designing or implementing production agentic workflows involving capabilities such as orchestration, tool integration, state management, evaluation, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop controls
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience developing agentic AI solutions using Claude Agent SDK including agent orchestration, tool integration, permissions or MCP integrations
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience developing and deploying production solutions using Anthropic Claude models
  • At least 1 year of experience applying prompt engineering, context engineering, structured outputs and related techniques to improve the performance, reliability and usability of AI solutions
  • 1+ years of experience leading project workstreams or engagement, translating business problems into AI solutions and delivering measurable outcomes
  • 4+ years of hands-on full-stack development experience using at least one back-end language such as Python, Java, .NET, Go, or Node.js and at least one modern front-end framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • 4+ years of experience in a client-facing development role, including 2+ years building and consuming Representational State Transfer (REST) and/or GraphQL application programming interfaces.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform, including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and one year of hands-on experience integrating Anthropic Claude application programming interfaces into software applications in a commercial setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or another technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience using Claude Cowork to support enterprise workflows, automation, research or other knowledge-work cases
  • Hands-on experience using Claude through one of more of the following: Azure AI Foundry, Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or the native Anthropic API

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $122,000 to $240,500.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
