Road & Rail Services
Company Profile: Established in 1987, Road & Rail Services has grown and diversified to become a leading provider of rail-related services in North America. Our network of skilled associates provides plant and terminal operating expertise as well as field maintenance of rail assets for railroads, rail shippers, and owners of rail related equipment and facilities.
Job Summary: Shuttle drivers perform a 360-degree visual inspection of all vehicles to assure there are no damages before entering each vehicle for movement. Once the inspection is complete shuttle drivers (if there are no damages to the vehicle) safely move vehicles throughout the customers' property in preparation for shipment.
Responsibilities:
  • Comply with all industry, customer and company safety regulations and operating procedure.
  • Conduct Vehicle inventory.
  • Where applicable assist in the operation of a tag/rinse vehicle wash facility.
  • Drive vehicles, at all times, in accordance with company and customer instructions/procedures.
  • Drive vehicles to proper parking bay by assigned route.
  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined by the company's sole discretion.
  • Must be regularly available to work overtime per day or per week, weekends and Holidays as the company determines necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
  • Perform housekeeping duties as required by site management.

Skills, Licenses, Certification, and/or Special Training:
  • Must maintain a valid state driver's license if required to operate company equipment.
  • Must be able to safely operate vehicles with either a manual or automatic transmission.

Work and Environmental Conditions:
  • Must be able to constantly work in an outdoor environment, exposed to all weather elements, including extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust and noisy conditions.
  • Constantly required to use bending, kneeling, twisting and walking motions to enter/exit vehicles and shuttle vans.
  • Constantly required to stand and/or walk during entire work shift.
  • In locations that operate a tag/rinse facility; ability to frequently be exposed to conditions of airborne water vapor and condensation
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and being on call
  • Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.

Conditions of Employment: Employment is conditional, based on a medical examination which includes an examination to verify candidates can safely perform the essential functions of the job. Road & Rail Services requires a post-offer motor vehicle reference check and employment and military (if applicable) verification required.
