Job description

Training (8/10/26-9/11/2026) will take place during day shift but candidates will move to swing shift upon completion of training. 

Driver training to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL). The course and subsequently obtaining a CDL must be completed within 60 days. 

Complete on-site driver training courses to acquire a CDL license.  Examples of skills provided in training course:

  • Effectively complete pre/post trip vehicle inspections.
  • Understand required equipment in vehicle such as fire extinguisher, safety triangles, and ability to correctly use a 2-way radio and use proper radio etiquette.
  • Obey all traffic laws and speed limits.
  • Learn to drive passengers; respond promptly to customer needs.
  • Provide information about the airport to the public and assist travelers.
  • Perform light cleaning inside bus (i.e. empty trash, sweep).
  • Assist passengers in boarding or exiting the vehicle as necessary, including operation of wheelchair lifts and restraints; under some circumstances, assist passengers with baggage.
  • Provide assistance to disabled passengers.
  • Only drive with CDL Trainer during training process while learning to recognize safety hazards and use appropriate precautions.

  • Less than High School education; one month related experience, training or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have a valid state-issued commercial driver’s permit and acceptable DMV record.
  • Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card) is required.
  • Able to pass DOT drug and alcohol test and background check.
  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance.
  • Basic math skills to include add or subtract two digit numbers, and multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Able to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence in English.

Physical requirements include standing, walking, use of hands to handle equipment; occasionally required to sit and climb or balance, lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Salary Range:  $23.00 per hour
