SHUTTLE DRIVER
BiRite Foodservice Distributors is a third generation, family-owned company that offers you a Complete Foodservice Solution. We offer unsurpassed service to all areas of foodservice throughout the greater Bay Area and Sacramento. Since 1966 we have focused on being the best foodservice partner in the Bay Area. We remain committed to serving our community with quality products, timely deliveries, and competitive pricing.
The Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering trailers to resident yards. The Shuttle Driver loads and unloads product to corresponding yards and returns products to Driver Check In while carefully following DOT and Company procedure. The Shuttle Driver will report to the Transportation Manager and Supervisor.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Drive tractor/trailer, adhering to all commercial driving regulations
  • Maintain ELD log books according to Department of Transportation Regulations.
  • Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tractor/trailer, and complete the vehicle inspection report.
  • Ensure shuttle of correct trailers to correct designated resident yards.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns at the driver check-in area. Must follow BiRite's Driver Check In procedures at all times.
  • Make sure assigned invoices are secured with the proper trailer.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Valid California Class A Commercial Driver License with Doubles Endorsement is required.
  • Clean DMV record is required, must be able to submit a current 5 year DMV Drivers Record
  • As of 1/6/2023, The Department of Transportation's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse is now in effect, all applicants must create a profile at fmcsa.dot.gov before being hired.
  • Employment offer is contingent upon successfully passing a drug screen, background and Clearinghouse check.
  • 3 years of commercial Class A driving experience is preferred
  • Food delivery experience is highly desired
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to use lift gate, dollies/hand truck, scanners, navigation
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, squat, turn/twist body, push and/or pull, stand, kneel and walk
Salary Range: $32.00 to $35.00 per hour DOE
