Position Information
Job Title Part Time - Culinary Arts Instructor Location Yuba College - Marysville, CA. Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION:
  • Develop and deliver instructional lectures for culinary arts courses up to 10 hours/week
  • Organize and teach all levels of culinary classes
  • Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning;
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses;
  • Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester;
  • Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired
Essential Duties Summary
REQUIRED DUTIES:
Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications for instructors:
  • Any associate degree and six years of full-time occupational experience in the related field OR
  • Any bachelor's degree and two years of full-time occupational experience in the related field OR
  • The equivalent OR
  • Possess a California Community life credential in the subject matter area.
  • Possession of a ServSafe Food Handler, Manager, and Responsible Alcohol Certification
  • Experience working in an environment that focuses on hospitality and customer service
    OR the equivalent (Must apply through YCCD's Equivalency Application Process).
    • Equivalency Requirement: All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District (YCCD) by the application filing date. Alternatively, applicants must have obtained an equivalency determination from the District before the publication of the Recruitment Announcement. This ensures that candidates either meet the standard qualifications or have received official recognition of their equivalent qualifications.

The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part-time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.

Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.
