Job description

Job Summary: This part-time role involves working two 12-hour weekend shifts from 7:30am to 8pm, totaling 48 hours biweekly, including attendance at required meetings and trainings. The position offers eligibility for full-time benefits and includes call shifts. The Weekend Lead Technologist coordinates daily operations during the shift, ensuring consistency and smooth functioning of the radiology department.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive shift reports from Radiology Management and maintain overall knowledge of staffing and scheduling to promote teamwork and adjust assignments as needed.
  • Manage meal and break times, ensuring appropriate coverage and staff accountability during shifts.
  • Operate and troubleshoot PACS, Powerscribe, and other imaging systems; coordinate repairs and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Assist Radiologists with staffing and equipment concerns.
  • Oversee department operations during disaster events until relieved by higher management.
  • Perform radiologic exams including X-Ray, Interventional Radiology (IR), and MRI during shifts.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly duties such as code cart checks and participate in quality and safety improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary contact for staffing and patient status during shifts, and participate in unit huddles to enhance communication and operations.
  • Coach and provide real-time feedback to department associates using a just culture approach.
Education and Experience:
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Radiology is required; a Bachelor of Science degree is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience is mandatory.
Licensure and Certifications:
  • Current licensure by the Indiana State ARRT Certification.
  • CPR Certification.

Work Shift: Weekend shifts, 1st shift hours.
