Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute medical strategy and engagement for assigned customers.
  • Communicate clinical and scientific data to KOLs and healthcare professionals through presentations, educational programs, and scientific discussions.
  • Serve as the primary resource to support unsolicited medical questions and other scientific exchange matters.
  • Identify, gather, and document field‑generated scientific insights to drive innovative Medical Affairs strategies while complying with industry and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Maintain scientific and clinical knowledge base through continuous learning and awareness of related scientific literature to enable meaningful scientific exchange.
  • Collaborate with field‑based Medical colleagues, appropriate Commercial colleagues, and the broader organization to provide scientific expertise and share Medical insights in support of internal and external activities.
  • Leverage knowledge of standards of care and company/investigator‑sponsored clinical trials and competitor landscape to facilitate external‑internal research communication.
  • Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries of Health Care Providers (HCPs), investigators, health‑care systems, academic medical centers, and treatment team members, integrating scientific data—including real‑world evidence—into real‑life practice to meet customer needs.
  • Deliver scientific presentations to formulary committees and other key healthcare decision makers (HCDMs), communicating the health‑economic model and supporting clinical data, and serve as the primary field‑based resource to address questions related to these insights.
  • Demonstrate strong expertise in health‑economic model design and effectively communicate complex concepts in a clear, accessible manner to diverse HCDM audiences.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of cost‑effectiveness and budget‑impact models to support informed decision‑making and value discussions.
Requirements
  • MD, PhD, PharmD, PA, NP, or equivalent degree highly preferred.
  • 2+ years of industry experience as a Medical Science Liaison required.
  • Clinical or related practical experience in GI/Liver preferred.
  • Strong scientific and clinical acumen.
  • Ability to quickly understand and translate complex scientific data and realize the potential impact of that data on clinical practice and research needs.
  • Experience in Managed Care/PBM, HEOR activities, or strong knowledge of P&T committee processes.
  • Ability to travel up to 60%; overnight and weekend travel may be required; must possess a valid driver’s license to travel to assigned healthcare accounts.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $200,000 to $220,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include a company car or car allowance and eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and/or individual performance.

Benefits for this position include a competitive compensation package, health benefits (medical, dental, and vision), company match 401(k), flexible paid time off (PTO), and sick time. Eligibility for paid sick time may vary depending on where you work in accordance with applicable federal, state, and municipal requirements.
