We're on the search for a detail-oriented and motivated Associate Scientist I to provide essential support to Scientists and Laboratory Management, ensuring laboratory compliance with SOPs, GMP, GLP, and all pertinent regulations. and help deliver accurate, reliable analytical results at Tentamus Pharmaceutical Sciences in St. Petersburg, Florida.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Associate Scientist I, reporting to the Chemistry Manager, supports analytical testing activities across raw materials, intermediates, finished products, and environmental samples. This role is designed for an experience bench scientist who can execute routine testing under supervision while demonstrating initiative in troubleshooting and instrument support. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of pharmaceutical products, excipients, raw materials, and environmental samples using various analytical techniques such as HPLC, UV, dissolution, and spectroscopic techniques.
  • Support method development and validation activities under the guidance of scientists and laboratory management.
  • Operate, maintain, and perform basic troubleshooting on analytical systems, including routine system checks.
  • Document all laboratory activities, results, and observations in compliance with data integrity principles (ALCOA+).
  • Conduct stability, raw material, finished product and in-process sample testing in accordance with SOPs, test methods, and regulatory standards.
  • Assist with instrument qualification and calibration activities as required.
  • Assist in the maintenance of laboratory inventory, manage reagents and solvents, and support laboratory waste management.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to ensure timely project completion and accurate reporting.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and revising SOPs, test methods, work instructions, and technical reports.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, inspections, and quality assurance activities.
  • Participate in training, skills development, and professional growth activities.
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness, safety, and audit readiness.
  • Support QA/QC teams in addressing non-conformances and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Participate in laboratory inspections and contribute to compliance documentation.

SCHEDULE & POSITION
This is a full-time, onsite role located at Tentamus Pharmaceutical Sciences LLC - 9525 International Ct N, St. Petersburg, FL 33716. The schedule is M - F , 9AM - 5PM .

QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely and without restrictions or sponsorship, and be a proactive, organized, and collaborative team member who meets the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific field.
  • 2-4 years of analytical laboratory experience with strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Experience working in GMP/GLP laboratory environments with familiarity of ISO standards, USP compendial methods, and ICH regulatory guidance.
  • Experience using analytical instrumentation and techniques including HPLC, UV, dissolution, and spectroscopic techniques.
  • Proficiency with LIMS, CDS, GMP documentation systems, and laboratory recordkeeping practices.
  • Strong technical ability to accurately follow written procedures, SOPs, methods, and protocols with a high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, technical problem-solving, and result communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with team members and leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaborative skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Positive, proactive, flexible, and team-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and professional ethics.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, develop, and grow within the role.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work full-time onsite.
