Make your mark for patients

UCB is looking for a clinically experienced, science-driven, and patient-focused Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to work on the Epilepsy & Rare Syndromes team for the Gulf Coast geography.

To ensure optimal coverage and engagement within the territory, candidates are ideally based in major hub cities inMemphis, TN, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Gulf Coast will engage with key scientific and medical influencers to advance understanding of UCB's Epilepsy and Rare Syndromes portfolio. This role fosters collaborative, science-driven partnerships with key stakeholders to support optimized patient care. The MSL will provide scientific exchange, contribute insights to medical strategies, and drive patient-focused initiatives within the local health ecosystem.

What You'll Do:

  • Stay current with research and clinical data related to epilepsy and rare syndromes.
  • Execute targeted stakeholder engagement strategies to identify local needs and opportunities.
  • Provide meaningful medical insights to support medical strategies and initiatives.
  • Represent UCB at scientific conferences and educational events.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance patient care and contribute to medical projects as needed.
  • May lead/support other Medical Affairs projects or activities as assigned.

Who You'll Work with:

  • Build and manage trusted, peer-level relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), clinical investigators, and patient advocacy groups

Interested? For this role, we're looking for the following education, experience, and skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • Doctorate (PhD, PharmD, MD, DPM, or DO) with a minimum of 3 years' experience as an MSL

OR

  • NP/PA with a minimum of 3 years' experience as an MSL or minimum of 3 years of direct clinical experience in relevant therapeutic area or 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Must reside within the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel 60-80% in the designated territory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical or professional experience in epilepsy and/or rare syndromes.
  • Strong scientific communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to actively listen, identify opportunities, and deliver solutions.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
  • This role requires 70-80% in-field engagement across the Gulf Coast region

This position's reasonably anticipated salary range is $134k-$204kper year. The actual salary offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
