Advance Practice Provider

In-Office/Onsite Position

Advance Practice Provider (Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Masters / Clinical Nurse Specialist Masters)

Employment Type: Full Time Benefits: M/D/V, Life Ins., 401(k), PTO, Paid Holidays, Bonus Programs

SCOPE: Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, the Advance Practice Provider involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Our physicians have combined decades of experience and received their training at highly acclaimed research institutions both nearby in Chicago and across the world. Our Gynecologic Oncology team offers an integrative approach to the diagnosis, treatment and surgical management of women cancers. Our focus as physicians is to give you the right diagnosis and guide you as medical experts. We take pride in using a comprehensive approach towards our patients' health. We believe that long-term care after cancer treatment is as important as your current treatment.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients.
  • Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
  • Performs procedures after appropriate training.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
  • Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Incorporates the developing knowledge of evidence-based research into clinical practice.
  • Developing knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
  • May provide case management for patients and their families, given limited knowledge of community resources.
  • May promote/provide staff education.
  • Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after-hour calls.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Nurse Practitioner Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • This position is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years post MSN experience, preferably in the chosen specialty.
  • RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • OR
  • Physician Assistant
  • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • This position is entry-level and typically requires 0-3 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant, preferably in the chosen specialty.
  • Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.
  • Current state license as a Physician Assistant. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • OR
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program.
  • This position is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years of post-MSN experience, preferably in the chosen specialty.
  • RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
