Job description

Speech Pathologist (Contract)
  • Location: California 93405

  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks

  • Pay: $2,230 โ€“ $2,500 per week

  • Schedule: 5x8-hour shifts (40 hours/week)

  • Shift: Day Shift, typically 8:30 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM (may vary 7:45 AM โ€“ 4:15 PM)

  • Days: Rotating schedule

  • Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend (Saturday/Sunday)

  • Call: None


Position Summary & Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders

  • Perform Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies and patient assessments

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across acute care units

  • Document care, monitor outcomes, and supervise support staff


Job Requirements
  • Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years acute care experience with adults (1 year accepted with acute internship)

    • MBS experience required (pediatric MBS a plus)

  • Education:

    • Masterโ€™s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (Required)

  • Licensure/Certifications:

    • Active Speech Pathologist license in the state of practice (Required)

    • BLS/CPR (AHA, ARC, or RQI) (Required)

    • ASHA CCC (Preferred)


Key Duties
  • Conduct evaluations and develop treatment plans

  • Provide care across units (ICU, Med-Surg, NICU, Peds, etc.)

  • Treat trach patients and perform inpatient/outpatient MBS studies

  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure regulatory compliance

  • Supervise assistants and support staff as needed
