Seibi Tech - 1505350Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Equipment Engineering Technician to support the development, installation, validation, and launch of automated battery pack assembly equipment.

This position will work closely with engineering teams, equipment vendors, manufacturing facilities, and global project groups to confirm equipment meets required safety, electrical, mechanical, quality, and production standards. The role will include equipment design reviews, Seibi confirmation activities, vendor trials, installation support, troubleshooting, and production readiness activities.

Candidates should have practical PLC programming experience, the ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings, and experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of automated battery pack assembly equipment.
  • Assist with equipment specifications and confirm compliance with applicable engineering and manufacturing standards.
  • Support machine risk assessments and equipment safety confirmation activities.
  • Perform Seibi equipment checks to verify safety, electrical, and mechanical design requirements.
  • Confirm safety interlocks for individual machines, manufacturing cells, conveyors, and logistics equipment.
  • Participate in equipment design reviews, vendor buy-off trials, zone trials, and production readiness evaluations.
  • Support equipment installation, adjustment, debugging, commissioning, and launch activities.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, safety devices, conveyors, and automated systems.
  • Work with equipment vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues and implement countermeasures.
  • Support equipment modifications and adjustments to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and reliability targets.
  • Review electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Document equipment issues, trial results, corrective actions, and confirmation activities.
  • Travel to equipment vendors and manufacturing facilities throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Japan.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a technical field, completion of a technical or trade school program, or at least three years of relevant technical experience.
  • At least two years of experience programming, modifying, or troubleshooting PLC systems.
  • Experience with one or more of the following PLC platforms:
    • Toyopuc
    • Allen-Bradley
    • Omron
    • Siemens
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience supporting automated equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability and willingness to work up to 25% overtime.
  • Ability to work extended shifts, including possible 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays during project and launch periods.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% during peak project periods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, or production confirmation.
  • Experience performing Seibi equipment confirmation activities.
  • Experience with automated assembly equipment, conveyor systems, or material-handling systems.
  • Experience programming or troubleshooting Kawasaki or FANUC industrial robots used for part transfer or automated fastening applications.
  • Experience setting up or integrating Keyence or other industrial vision systems.
  • Experience with autonomous mobile robots, automated guided vehicles, or AGV traffic-control systems.
  • Experience with machine safety circuits, safety PLCs, interlocks, sensors, servo systems, and industrial networking.
  • Previous experience supporting new equipment launches, vendor buy-offs, FATs, SATs, or production trials.
