Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Notes

The Operating Room RN position requires coverage Monday through Friday, with available shifts from 12 PM to 8 PM or 2 PM to 10 PM, at the department's discretion based on staffing and cases. A 40-hour work week is expected, with holiday rotation included. There are no weekend or on-call requirements.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 24 months of experience in an Operating Room setting, demonstrating proficiency in circulating various surgical cases independently. This role requires expertise in the following:

  • DaVinci robotics
  • Orthopedic surgery, including Total Joints & Spine
  • General surgery
  • Spine procedures

Experience with Mako and Rosa equipment is highly preferred, as a significant portion of total joint cases utilize these technologies.

Unit Information

The unit comprises 14 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1.

Requirements

  • Active Iowa license or compact multistate license
  • Proficient experience with EPIC EMR
  • Professional references from charge nurses, supervisors, or nursing managers within the past 24 months
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA or ARC
Holiday Rotation

Candidates must be available to work during selected holidays unless the unit is closed. This may include Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
