Job description

Franklin County Memorial Hospital is in need of a PRN (as needed) Registered Nurse (RN) for our acute care department. The successful candidate will love working with ventilator patients, physical therapy patients, and general acute care patients that suffer from illnesses and/or injuries. We are looking for a highly professional RN who is comfortable and successful with communicating with family members and doctors as well as tending to the needs of his or her patients. We offer a positive work environment where all medical personnel work together as a team for the good of the patient. We hope that you will want to join our team.

Our nurses coordinate total nursing care for patients, and participate in patient and family teaching. They provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing staff and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

Skills Needed: Excellent Clinical Skills, Bedside Manner, Infection Control, Critical Thinking Skills, Medication Administration, Medical Teamwork, Multi-tasking, Listening, Strong Verbal Communication, Great Attention to Detail, Health Promotion and Maintenance, Strong Computer Skills. Previous experience with Peg tubes, PICC lines, NG tubes, Ventilator Patients is preferred, but not mandatory.

Qualifications: Current Mississippi RN License, BLS, ACLS, and PALS current or obtains within 90 days of hire date.

Position: Applicant must be flexible and able to work day shift or night shift as needed. Applicant must be available for at least four shifts per schedule to include one weekend shift a month. Applicant must be able to provide coverage for two major holidays a year. All shifts are 12 hours in duration. Applicant must be able to complete orientation to area and computer system within two weeks.
