Department: YVMC OR
Work Schedule: Full Time, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Days
Pay: $38.91 - $60.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option
Summary:
Provides on-call nursing support for critical procedural areas. Carries out patient care assignments, performing established nursing procedures.
Responsibilities:
  • Provides on-call nursing support for critical procedural service areas.
  • Adheres to patient safety goals, fall and skin precautions, restraint use, and medication administration policies. Educates patient and family.
  • Completes patient assessment based on diagnosis and scheduled procedure; identifies discrepancies or conditions that would impact planned care. Documents care provided.
  • Handles assignment changes. Identifies opportunities for practice improvements. Identifies additional supplies and equipment needed.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
  • ACLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
  • 1 year of acute care nursing experience.
