Job description

The Patient Care Technician (PCT/CNA) performs a variety of patient care activities at Gaylord Hospital. Working under the direction of the RN, the PCT’s have valuable exposure to a wide variety of patient populations and skills while working in a warm and friendly atmosphere with supportive, interdisciplinary teams. With an average patient length of stay 25-30 days, the PCT is able to develop strong relationships and play a key role in the recovery of our patients.

Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required
  • CNA, CPCT, CEMT, CMA or RMA required or equivalent Training Program
  • Patient care experience preferred
  • American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) CPR Certification required prior to hire

 

WORK SCHEDULE: Day Shift (7am- 3:30 pm), 32 hours a week, every other weekend/holiday rotation 
 

Gaylord nursing units offer a variety of skills such as:

Milne Units:  Step down/progressive care unit of level of care includes:

  • Continuous telemetry monitoring
  • Ventilator support and weaning
  • LVAD patient population
  • Heart Transplant population

Lyman 1 & Hooker 1:  Medical Units offer skills such as:

  • Stroke
  • Complex wounds
  • Telemetry
  • Pulmonary care

Lyman 2 & Hooker 2:  Specialty Units are CARF Accredited with a focused patient population:

  • Traumatic Brain Injury 
  • Stroke
  • Spinal cord Injury
