Job description

The Graduate Patient Care Technician performs a variety of patient care activities at Gaylord hospital. Working under the direction the RN, the PCT’s have valuable exposure to a wide variety of patient populations and skills while working in a warm and friendly atmosphere with supportive, interdisciplinary teams. With an average patient length of stay 25 -30 days, the PCT is able to develop strong relationships and play a key role in the recovery of our patients

Qualifications:
  • H.S. Diploma or GED required
  • Graduate of Gaylord Hospital's Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program required prior to hire
  • Proof of Certification testing date required or must provide prior to hire

WORK SCHEDULE: Varied schedule- every other weekend/holiday rotation

Gaylord nursing units offer a variety of skills such as:

Milne Units: Step down/progressive care unit of level of care includes:

  • Continuous telemetry monitoring
  • Ventilator support and weaning
  • LVAD patient population
  • Heart Transplant population

Lyman 1 & Hooker 1: Medical Units offer skills such as:

  • Stroke
  • Complex wounds
  • Telemetry
  • Pulmonary care

Lyman 2 & Hooker 2: Specialty Units are CARF Accredited with a focused patient population:

  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Stroke
  • Spinal cord Injury
